Most of the customers are not ready to adopt the SAP Standard Fiori Login page theme and they want to go for their own branding and theming.
Branding and theming can extend from Client Logo to the color coding as per the customer requirement. The famous Flower cadern image. Let us first observe, from where do they come from: Obviously as this is the Gateway system.
Its stored in the MIME repository. You can very well download it and modify and replace. Hell yeah, we want to make the logo responsive too. Make sure you make a copy of SAP version for future reference. Whenever you are adding a background image, do get ready with 3 versions of it: Desktop, Mobile Landscape, Mobile Vertical.
You can refer blogs in SCN which will give you a detailed version of enhancement required in the class: If you are just replacing the SAP content with your customer’s content. Then no need of enhancement.
Once you are done with cadegno of images in the mime rep and modifying the CSS files as per your client requirement. You are just done. For the love of cartoons, I have tried this and you can as well try it out and make your customer’s happy. Layout of Cartoon Network logo from cadeeno to center alligned.
F12 in the screen cxderno Right click and click on Inspect element in the browser once the page is loaded. Click on the Magnifier icon.
Now find the same id in your css file and modify as required. Right screen will show you all the styles used in the class: Here you see background-color: Click on it and you can change as required, but it will be a temporary change. In my next blog: Jeremy Good Here you go. Launchpad earlier launchpage now has many new features which has cleared many restrictions which were not possible in SAP GUI screens, UI5 surely is the boss here.
User can add or remove the tiles and can personalize as per their requirement. Not a CSS expert though, but will share some of the screens which I tried and show how can this be done. Below transitions will show you how the launchpad is changed from the start. Now hover your mouse pointer over all the elements displayed in the launchpad to get the id of the elements.
Here below I am showing you the same. Also it will show you on the footer of inspect element. Take the id in your css tab and modify it as you want.
Click on the SAP -Tile icon and get the id of the element and change the color as required. You can clearly see sap default colors on the style tab below. Modify the color and deploy the same in your css code to take the effect.
Colorful Fiori – Part 3 – Sea Blue. Throughout I often talked about the importance of collaborative file sharing to success at work. Whether you are in the office or on the road, you need easy access to your personal documents and corporate content.
Almost every project I work on involves a team of people collaborating to get things done. In order for me to be successful, I rely heavily on being able to simply and easily share documents and content with my colleagues. I often remind people that these consumer grade products pose a significant security risk, leaving your most important files and information vulnerable. With SAP Mobile Documentsour goal is to make sure your content is as easy to access as it is secure — we understand the importance caserno protecting your data wherever it resides.
With SAP Mobile Documents, files can be stored and shared anywhere at any time from a desktop or mobile device. The shared content is not only easily accessible, but is also secure, which is the most valued feature of the software.

Ever greater focus on network csderno When dealing with any complex system landscape, network communication problems are one of the challenges companies face to keeping their system functional. Adding mobile technology to the mix puts an ever greater focus on network communication and implies the occasional need to trace issues.
To detect and find any interruption in network communication is very challenging. Sometimes daderno you are involved in a complex problem, caderbo back to the basic and thinking outside the box is the key to figure out the problem caaderno the cause: This issue was happening randomly. We figured out after debugging that this issue was related to a network problem, ant that our solution – SMP – was working just fine.
Such network issues can adversely impact many SAP solutions, and it is valuable to have an utility that is independent of the SAP solutions so that customers and partners can clearly differentiate network issues from SAP issues.
This utility was indeed developed by SAP. Because of the success that we had with this tool, SAP decided to share it with the community. This tool does not depend on any specific products. If you are trying to caerno if there is a network communication problem across the machines, or VMs, then this tool fns the one for you.
All the details and how to run this utility are located in the github link that was provided above. Working as the CTO of Neptune Software for the last three and a half years, I have spent fns of my time working with SAP mobility and User Experience, meeting and discussing with customers and helping in mobile SAP implementations all over the world. This post will look at the three major misconceptions I have observed that in my opinion dooms your mobility project.
With the emergence of HTML5 and great frameworks like SAPUI5, it is possible to create responsive web pages enhanced for viewing on mobile devices and even optimized for touch events.
It is tempting to view mobile web apps as the most cost efficient and best option to roll out mobility in an organization. Unfortunately this solution is ill suited for any serious mobility project and more so in an enterprise setting. I see more and more of the SAP community considering mobility as inherent in all other topics, which is good, but I cadernoo afraid that projects downplay mobility into adding some responsive UI5 or Fiori screens. User experience, authentication, security, offline capabilities For larger amounts of dataapplication distribution and access to native device features cadernno the most prominent of the reasons why web apps is not a valid option for any serious Enterprise mobility strategy.
Apps dominate mobile internet usage and consumers move away from the mobile browser, as can be seen dnq this publication from Flurry Analytics: You do not use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn in a browser on your mobile device so you should not expect your users to feel differently about your enterprise applications.
Hybrid is definitely the way to go. You get both the advantages of native capabilities and responsive cross-platform development. Today you have several options to achieve this. In addition to Hybrid Apps, caxerno need to look at how to distribute these and secure them in a user-friendly manner.
cadermo Neptune has support for this but there are many options and combinations of these cadern the market.
The trend is xaderno from Mobile Device Management to Mobile Application Management Blame BYOD and remember that security should not impact usability too severely as this will drastically reduce user adoption. Implementing a proper mobile solution is not as difficult or costly as many customers I have met seem to believe.
I am a strong believer in adapting software to fit the individual customer. Customization and enhancement possibilities is what has made SAP great.
Customizing, for instance, logistics using SAP results in major competitive advantages. Traditionally we have been stuck with a static user interface in SAP solutions and this has been a major pain point.
It is bad on a desktop but useless on a small mobile screen. The first productivity apps from SUP had this issue and I vividly remember a consultant being cadefno to leave a meeting some years ago after suggesting that the customer should remove WBS from their cost assignment to fit the Time Recording app.
Use design thinking, include real end-users Super users tend to be afraid of losing functionality and clutter the app with loads of elements.
Test in production with a small but relevant pilot group with iterations improving the app With a small monitored user group you can always fix postings in the backend, and once you roll out cadefno a large scale you have one shot, so do it right.
This is the reason we refer to cadermo premade Neptune applications as templates. Our customers consume these, then change and transform the templates into killer apps. The API first approach is gaining momentum. Well it was not. Our PI systems crashed and debug was hell. The services were created for certain scenarios and often complex and not optimized for large volumes.
Today we look at oData through GW services, often with nested structures demanding complex client-side logic and low performance.
